Masters and Doctorate in Professional Studies (MProf / DProf)
This programme is specifically for senior professionals looking to make an impact on their organisation or profession through leading edge large-scale projects. Unlike many other professional doctorates, this programme offers a generic framework which enables a wide range of professionals from the public, private and voluntary sectors to negotiate programmes which are customised to the needs of their own professions and organisation's. It is an 'applied' alternative to a PhD, aimed at high level executives for whom a traditional PhD would be too abstract, but its study timescale's and costs are on a par with traditional PhD's. The Master in Professional Studies (MProf) is an applied alternative to MPhil. It can be taken as a qualification in its own right or as a stepping stone leading to DProf.
